Ten online jobs for students that can help them make ends meet!
Just because you’re in school doesn’t mean you can’t earn some extra cash! The following ten online jobs are all great options if you’re a student looking to earn some extra money, and most don’t require any specialized knowledge or education level to start working immediately. If you’re just getting started with your online job search, this list can help you get on the right track!
Tutoring
Get paid to tutor others. If you know a specific subject, there are websites that will match you up with someone who needs tutoring. Tutoring has always been a great way to earn some extra cash and help people at the same time. As an added bonus, if you have special knowledge in any subject matter, tutoring is a great way to show off your expertise and potentially earn more clients in the future or have college credit if you’re a student yourself.
Freelance Writing
If you’re a great writer, it doesn’t matter if you have experience in an industry. All you need is your fingers and a keyboard. You can get work by writing descriptions or product listings on sites like Upwork, Craigslist, Fiverr, Problogger Jobs and Livecareer. Just take care to avoid plagiarism—writing content that belongs to someone else. (Note: Most of these sites will also require you to create a profile.)
Virtual Assistant Work
Virtual assistants perform a variety of tasks, such as data entry, filing, bookkeeping and other administrative tasks. They also answer phones, schedule appointments and manage mail or faxes. Working virtually offers many advantages to those who are interested in a virtual assistant position. You get to work wherever you want—home office, coffee shop or public library—and there’s usually little if any face-to-face interaction with clients.
Online Language Courses
Teaching English is a huge industry, with native speakers in high demand. TESOL/TESL certification isn’t necessary to teach English as a second language, but it will get you started in a well-paying career.
Online Programming Courses
Coursera’s free courses, including Machine Learning, are taught by some of the world’s leading professors from top universities. It’s a great way to learn from your computer and earn a statement-worthy credential to add to your resume. And at just $20 per course (paid after you pass), it’s probably cheaper than most textbooks too.
